Leftwich Considering Season-Ending Ankle Surgery

Benched Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich is contemplating whether to undergo season-ending ankle surgery.

Leftwich was examined this week in Birmingham by orthopedist James Andrews, who advised Leftwich to wait a week or two before making a decision after having the ankle reevaluated, according to the Jaguars.

Coach Jack Del Rio has gone to David Garrard as the team's starter at quarterback.

The Jaguars likely will get defensive tackle Marcus Stroud back for Monday night's game against the New York Giants. He's missed six games because of an ankle injury but is practicing this week.
