Time for Cutler?

It appears to be Jay Cutler time in Denver.

Quarterback Jake Plummer and the Broncos struggled again Thursday night, managing only 10 points in a loss in Kansas City. Plummer threw an interception and missed some open receivers in a 25-for-39, 216-yard passing performance, and Coach Mike Shanahan now has extra time to get Cutler, a first-round draft choice in April, ready to play if he wants to switch to the rookie for the Broncos' next game a week from Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

The 19-10 defeat to the Chiefs dropped the Broncos' record to 7-4. They've lost two straight and three of their past five games, and the clamoring for a quarterback change is more intense than ever. Plummer is the league's 29th-rated passer and he made two costly mistakes, dropping a snap on a key third-down play and later throwing an interception, in the late stages of the Broncos' loss last Sunday to the San Diego Chargers.
