Cardinals Hire Whisenhunt
A second head coaching vacancy in the NFL was filled Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals hired Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.
Whisenhunt replaces the fired Dennis Green and takes over a team that has had one winning season since 1984. The Cardinals interviewed eight candidates and had two of them, Whisenhunt and Houston Texans assistant head coach Mike Sherman, back for second interviews.
He becomes the second head coach hired this offseason, following the Atlanta Falcons' hiring of Bobby Petrino. The Steelers, Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders still are looking for coaches. Whisenhunt's hiring in Arizona could make Steelers offensive line coach Russ Grimm the favorite to replace Bill Cowher in Pittsburgh.

Why anyone would want top work for Bill Bidwell is beyond me. The only cool thing Bidwell ever did was fire Buddy Ryan on Christmas Day.
