Cowboys to Interview Singletary
MIAMI--San Francisco 49ers linebackers coach Mike Singletary is scheduled to interview Tuesday for the Dallas Cowboys' head coaching job.
Singletary will become the eighth candidate to interview for the job and the second 49ers assistant coach, along with offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
The Cowboys hired Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach Jason Garrett as their offensive coordinator and are keeping him under consideration for the head coaching job. They also interviewed defensive coordinators Wade Phillips of the San Diego Chargers and Gary Gibbs of the New Orleans Saints and three of their own assistants--Todd Haley, Tony Sparano and Todd Bowles.
The Singletary interview should alleviate concerns among some league officials associated with the diversity process that Bowles was the only minority candidate interviewed for the job and was not regarded as a serious candidate.

Given the high probability that this is an insincere interview on Jones part to satisfy the Rooney rule, Singletary should ask that the interview be held at fabulous vacation resort - Tahiti, Bahamas, Hawaii, whereever - where the Cowboys cover all the expenses for his families (presuming he has one) week long stay.

Jimmy Johnson interested in returning to Dallas?

Yeah, I heard that too. He'd be the perfect fit to take over the cowboys again.

Any chance that Singletary is really being interveiwed to come in with Turner, and take over as defensive coordinator?
