Tomlin Looks Like Favorite for Steelers Job
People familiar with the Pittsburgh Steelers' coaching search say that Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin has emerged as the favorite for the job.
Tomlin, they said, could be hired early next week to replace Bill Cowher, who resigned after 15 seasons with the Steelers.
The other finalists for the job are Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera and Steelers offensive line coach Russ Grimm. It's possible the Steelers will wait to see if the Bears lose Sunday's NFC title game, which would enable them to have a second interview with Rivera before making a final decision.
Steelers officials denied a report that they'd already selected Tomlin.
