Chargers Interview Rivera
Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera interviewed for the San Diego Chargers' head coaching job Friday.
He was the fourth candidate to interview for the job following San Francisco 49ers linebackers coach Mike Singletary, Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan and 49ers offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Singletary was interviewed Wednesday, two days after Chargers President Dean Spanos abruptly fired Marty Schottenheimer, and Ryan and Turner had their interviews Thursday.
The Chargers apparently plan to interview Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer today.
For Rivera, it was his second head coaching interview just since the Bears' Super Bowl defeat. He was interviewed by the Dallas Cowboys last week but then was passed over in favor of Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
