Cowboys' Coaching Choice Should Come Soon

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones apparently completed the interviewing process for his team's head coaching vacancy by interviewing Jim Caldwell, the Indianapolis Colts' assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach, on Wednesday in Irving, Tex.

Caldwell became the 10th candidate interviewed by the Cowboys and Jones likely will hire a successor to Bill Parcells today or Friday.

Jones waited until after the Super Bowl to interview Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera and Caldwell.

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Norv Turner is thought to be the front-runner but San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, 49ers linebackers coach Mike Singletary and Jason Garrett, the offensive coordinator recently hired by Jones for the Cowboys from the Miami Dolphins, are said to remain under consideration as well.

The Cowboys are the last team in the league with a head coaching vacancy.
