Giants Get Linebacker Help With K. Mitchell

PHOENIX, Ariz.--Free agent linebacker Kawika Mitchell, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the New York Giants.

The Giants got the help at linebacker they needed after a potential trade for the Denver Broncos' Al Wilson fell through last week. Wilson failed a Giants' physical on Friday.

Mitchell likely will be a starter at outside linebacker for the Giants, who released LaVar Arrington early in the offseason.
