Giants, Jets Still Working Through Stadium Funding Issues
PHOENIX, Ariz.--The New York Giants and New York Jets continue to deal with issues related to the funding of their planned new stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Owners and executives from both teams spent Sunday trying to convince other owners to waive the rules that clubs usually must follow related to the amount of debt they can carry when they build new stadiums. Because of the New York stadium's enormous price tag, reportedly now about $1.6 billion, the Giants and Jets will need to carry more debt over a longer period of time than is usually permitted.
