Saints-Colts to Open Season on Sept. 6

PHOENIX, Ariz.--The NFL announced its schedule for the featured games of the season's opening weekend and Thanksgiving.

The Indianapolis Colts will host the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the season-opening Thursday night game on NBC. On Sept. 9, the first Sunday of the regular season, Chicago will play at San Diego at 4:15 on Fox and the New York Giants will play at Dallas at 8:15 on NBC.

There will be a Monday night doubleheader on ESPN on Sept. 10, with the Baltimore Ravens playing at Cincinnati at 7 and Arizona at San Francisco at 10:15.

The Thanksgiving tripleheader will be Green Bay at Detroit at 12:30 p.m. on Fox, the New York Jets at Dallas at 4:15 on CBS and the Colts at Atlanta at 8:15 on the NFL Network.

ESPN has a 2-hour special scheduled for Thursday April 5 at 2pm (and repeated throughout the evening) devoted to the schedule release, so I guess that's the day...
