Schaub Gets Hefty New Contract from Texans

Quarterback Matt Schaub has agreed to a six-year, $48 million contract with the Houston Texans, an NFL source said.

The deal completes Wednesday's trade in which the Texans are sending a second-round pick in each of the next two drafts to the Atlanta Falcons for Schaub. The two teams also are exchanging first-round choices next month, with the Falcons moving up two spots to No. 8.

Schaub's contract includes $7 million in guaranteed money, the source said. It also has a $10 million option bonus in 2010 that the Texans will have to pay to retain him for the final three seasons of the deal.
