Colts Let J. David Go to Saints
The Indianapolis Colts declined to match the New Orleans Saints' four-year offer sheet to cornerback Jason David, a restricted free agent.
The Saints get David and send a fourth-round pick in this weekend's draft to the Colts as compensation. The contract is worth about $15.6 million and was structured to make it difficult for the Colts to match because of a cumbersome salary cap number in its first year.
The exodus from the Super Bowl champions continues. The Colts have lost tailback Dominic Rhodes, wide receiver Brandon Stokley, linebacker Cato June, defensive tackle Montae Reagor, safety Mike Doss, cornerback Nick Harper and David this offseason.
