Culpepper Reportedly Not Ready For Full Minicamp Participation
The Miami Dolphins have a minicamp scheduled for next weekend but quarterback Daunte Culpepper reportedly won't be ready to participate fully.
Culpepper continues to work his way back from the knee troubles that plagued his first season with the Dolphins. The club obtained him in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings hoping he would recover from a knee injury in time to begin last season as the team's starter.
He was in the Dolphins' opening-day lineup last season, but he wasn't really ready to play. He was shut down by former coach Nick Saban and underwent another knee surgery, and now the Dolphins still can't be certain if or when he'll regain his previous form.
The Dolphins have released Joey Harrington, leaving Cleo Lemon as their main alternative to Culpepper at quarterback. They've been trying to trade for Kansas City Chiefs veteran Trent Green but those discussions have stalled because the Chiefs have been asking for a second-round draft choice.
