Culpepper Scheduled to Work Out for Raiders
Free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper is scheduled to work out for the Oakland Raiders today.
Culpepper remains available after being released by the Miami Dolphins, and the Raiders are shorthanded at quarterback with top overall draft choice JaMarcus Russell still unsigned.
The Raiders also have Andrew Walter and Josh McCown on the roster.
Oakland has seemed like a logical landing place for Culpepper ever since it became clear that he would not be back for a second season with the Dolphins. He could keep the starting seat warm for Russell for a season or two, and he has the sort of big arm to fit into the down-the-field passing offense that owner Al Davis adores.
