Alstott Done For Season, But Stops Shy of Announcing Retirement

Fullback Mike Alstott will miss the season after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they're placing him on the injured reserve list.

Alstott, 33, suffered a neck injury and said he will determine at a later time whether he will resume his NFL career.

There had been reports by several news outlets earlier in the day that Alstott would retire, but he stopped short of announcing that. He suffered a career-threatening neck injury in 2003 but returned to play in 2004.
