P. Manning Takes Up for Brother
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning took up for younger brother Eli after the New York Giants quarterback's leadership skills were criticized on national television Sunday by former Giants tailback Tiki Barber.
"You cannot play quarterback at any level, even junior high, without taking a leadership position," Peyton Manning said Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star. "Three years in high school, three years starting in college, being in your fourth year [in the NFL] and taking a team to the playoffs twice--you are a leader and you're a good leader. The ones who aren't leaders are the ones who don't make it at any level."
Barber, now a broadcaster for NBC, said on the network's Sunday telecast that Eli Manning's leadership attempts were "almost comical" at times last season. Eli Manning criticized Barber on Tuesday, saying he wondered about the leadership of a player who announced his retirement at midseason, as Barber did last season.

Keep the huddle under control? What, the safety's gonna phone out for pizza delivery if the quarterback doesn't control the huddle? Maybe the center's gonna give the left guard a wedgie?
And anyone can call plays when the play

You go Manning brothers; As a former QB, I know it takes some type of leadership to play the position.....someone has to call the plays and keep the huddle under control. I suppoet Eli, even if he is a Jint.
