Colts Pick on Former Teammate
INDIANAPOLIS--The Indianapolis Colts obviously knew something about Jason David.
David left the Colts for the New Orleans Saints this past offseason as a free agent. The young cornerback made one big play against his former team here Thursday night, returning a fumble for a touchdown. But the Colts more than exacted their revenge, victimizing David for all three of quarterback Peyton Manning's touchdown passes. Two went to Reggie Wayne, and one went to fellow wideout Marvin Harrison.
Harrison's touchdown came when he lined up on the left side of the Colts' formation and beat David with an inside move. Harrison almost always lines up on the right side. Manning, in fact, said it might have been his first career touchdown pass to Harrison on that side of the field.
"I can't think of any other one I've thrown to him on the left side," Manning said following the Colts' 41-10 triumph.
