D. Hall Fined $100,000, Might Be Benched for Part of This Weekend's Game

The Atlanta Falcons fined cornerback DeAngelo Hall $100,000 for an outburst during last Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers and might suspend him for at least a quarter of this weekend's game.

Hall told reporters the details of the penalty today at the Falcons' training facility. He indicated he thinks the sanctions are too harsh and he plans to file an appeal through the NFL Players Association.

Hall got into a heated sideline exchange with Falcons Coach Bobby Petrino and an assistant coach after committing three penalties, one of them for unsportsmanlike conduct, on a Panthers' touchdown drive Sunday.
