McNabb Tells HBO that African-American Quarterbacks Are Criticized More Harshly than White Counterparts
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb said in an HBO interview that African-American quarterbacks are criticized more harshly than their white counterparts.
"There's not that many African-American quarterbacks, so we have to do a little bit extra," McNabb said.
McNabb also said: "I pass for 300 yards, our team wins by seven, [it's] 'Ah, he could've made this throw. They would have scored if he did this.' "
McNabb said that's not always the case for white quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer.
"Let me start by saying I love those guys," McNabb said. "But they don't get criticized as much as we do. They don't."
The interview is scheduled to be aired tonight. McNabb's comments were reported in the Philadelphia Daily News.

Shut up Donovan! Does he seriously think, say, Rex Grossman would be criticized more if he were black? Or Pennington, or Eli Manning? Please, just shut up Donovan.

Enough of this racial crap. It is a non-issue and should be ignored by the media.

Isn't this crap getting a little old?
Act like a man, Donovan, and take responsibility for your actions.
When you play like crap you will hear about it, and the color of your skin has nothing to do with it.
Grow up and stop using this as a crutch to get people to stop "telling it like it is".
The truth be told, Donovan, you are 1-6 over your last seven starts, and only the last two games happened after you came back from being hurt.
If Grossman/Manning/Brady were 1-6 over their last seven starts they would be riding the pine right now.

He is right in the one sense he gets a lot of flack from black people what white quarterbacks don't get. He got ripped by the NAACP chapter leader for trying to 'act white' cause he doesn't run the ball as much as Vick. Also black players in general get some extra grief since everyone assumes they are from the ghetto and would otherwise be criminals. I don't see the Tom Brady's of the league getting tickets for there window tint being too dark very often. McNabb is just whining though, Grossman is a perfect example, and the Jet's so called fans actually applauded Pennington being crippled once again.

Personally I think Rush Limbugh was correct when he said most people in the media are falling all over themselves pulling for a black QB to do well.
While it may have been a rude thing for him to say he probably should not fired for saying it.
I also agree with Bolts Fan and Jed that this racial stuff is getting old and should be a non-issue.
McNabb looks like his best days are about 2 years in the past. Glad he's not on my fantasy squad.
