Cardinals Place Leinart on Injured Reserve, Sign Rattay to Back Up Warner
The Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Matt Leinart on the injured reserve list, ending his season, and signed Tim Rattay to back up new starter Kurt Warner.
Leinart had been the Cardinals' starter until suffering a broken collarbone during Sunday's victory over the St. Louis Rams. Warner had been playing regularly in a relief role, running the Cardinals' no-huddle offense. Now he takes over as the starter.
The Cardinals signed Rattay after he worked out today for Coach Ken Whisenhunt and other club officials. Rattay, a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was released by the Tennessee Titans before the season. The Cardinals also had hoped to have Vinny Testaverde work out for team officials today, but he informed the club that he wasn't interested.

With the QB's getting injured, is there a market opening up for Mark Brunell to be traded for a decent pick?
I know the Skins would be rolling the dice, but his value is probably considerably higher than when the Skins thought about dealing him in the pre-season.
