Carr Could Replace Ailing Testaverde as Panthers' Starter

David Carr could reclaim the starting quarterback job for the Carolina Panthers this week.

Vinny Testaverde sat out the Panthers' practice today after aggravating an injury to his right Achilles' tendon during Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Testaverde has started the Panthers' last two games just after signing with the team. Carr had taken over as the starter for Jake Delhomme, who suffered a season-ending elbow injury, but relinquished the job to Testaverde because of a back injury.

Carr replaced Testaverde during the Colts game and participated in today's practice.
