Chargers Moving Practices to Arizona
The Chargers canceled their practice today because of the wildfires raging in San Diego County. They're scheduled to travel to Phoenix on Tuesday and practice at the Arizona Cardinals' facility in Tempe the remainder of the week. The Cardinals have a bye this week.
Representatives of the Chargers and the league indicated it was too soon to know if the team's home game Sunday against the Houston Texans will be affected. Four years ago, the Chargers played a home game in Tempe because of wildfires.
The Chargers issued a written statement today that said: "Our overwhelming priority now is the safety of our players and staff and their families. Our prayers are with everyone who is impacted by this tragedy."
Tailback LaDainian Tomlinson was among 40 members of the Chargers organization forced to evacuate their homes.
