Decision on Chargers Game Now Expected Thursday

The decision about when and where the San Diego Chargers' game will be played now is unlikely to come until Thursday.

NFL officials had hoped to make a determination by day's end. But they're waiting to hear whether Jerry Sanders, the mayor of San Diego, thinks the game can be played as scheduled Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium, and Sanders indicated he plans to make his decision Thursday.

With wildfires raging in San Diego County, the Chargers are practicing in Arizona. They're scheduled to play the Houston Texans on Sunday. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said today the game could be postponed until Monday, or it could be moved to Houston or Dallas.
