Dolphins Lose R. Brown For Season

The winless Miami Dolphins have lost their top offensive player, tailback Ronnie Brown, to a season-ending knee injury.

Brown suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots. The third-year pro finishes the season with 602 rushing yards in seven games.

Jesse Chatman, Patrick Cobbs and Lorenzo Booker likely will split carries in Brown's absence. Chatman takes over as the starter, with Cobbs as the primary backup.

The Dolphins also lost safety Renaldo Hill to a torn ACL suffered Sunday.
