Leftwich Named Falcons' Starter

Atlanta Falcons Coach Bobby Petrino made a quarterback change, promoting Byron Leftwich into the starting role ahead of Joey Harrington.

The move comes on the heels of Monday night's lopsided loss to the New York Giants that dropped the Falcons' record to 1-5.

Harrington had started the first six games of the season but his hold on the job became tenuous when the Falcons signed Leftwich, the former Jacksonville starter who was released by the Jaguars before the season, last month.
