Odds Seem to Be Increasing that Game Will Be Played in San Diego

It's looking more and more like the Chargers will play the Houston Texans in San Diego, but perhaps on Monday instead of Sunday.

The wildfires raging in San Diego County have had NFL officials considering moving the game to Houston or Dallas. But conditions seem to have improved to the point where authorities in San Diego appear to be leaning toward keeping the game there. The NFL essentially has left the decision up to Jerry Sanders, the mayor of San Diego.

Sanders had been expected to make his decision today but a final announcement tonight about where and when the game will be played no longer seems likely.

Earlier this week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell left open the possibility of playing the game Monday, especially if it remains in San Diego.
