Week 6 Picks

Local Teams

Redskins at Packers
The Redskins are becoming a very solid all-around team. The Packers, too, look playoff-bound. But they have their limitations, namely their complete lack of a running game. That will catch up to them at some point.
Pick: Redskins

Rams at Ravens
The Rams will win a game at some point this season. But not this one.
Pick: Ravens

Lock of the Week

Vikings at Bears
The Bears climb back toward respectability with Brian Griese at quarterback.
Pick: Bears

Upset of the Week

Titans at Buccaneers
The Bucs are close to having to take volunteers out of the stands to play running back.
Pick: Titans

Games of the Week

Patriots at Cowboys
The Patriots are the most dominant team in the league. If these two played 10 times, the Patriots would probably win six or seven. But they're only playing once. The Cowboys are at home, and they seem to be living a charmed existence these days.
Pick: Cowboys

Texans at Jaguars
David Garrard has been getting it done.
Pick: Jaguars

Raiders at Chargers
The Raiders in first place? Not for long.
Pick: Chargers

Other Games

Dolphins at Browns
The Browns are simply better.
Pick: Browns

Bengals at Chiefs
The Cincinnati defense can't stop anyone, but the Kansas City offense can't move the ball on anyone.
Pick: Bengals

Eagles at Jets
Andy Reid's teams have always rebounded when the outlook has been bleak.
Pick: Eagles

Panthers at Cardinals
Kurt Warner over David Carr.
Pick: Cardinals

Saints at Seahawks (Sunday night)
The Saints are way, way overdue for a win, but the Seahawks get by at home.
Pick: Seahawks

Giants at Falcons (Monday night)
The Giants are on a roll.
Pick: Giants

Record
Last Week: 11-3
Season: 47-29

Why is picking the Titans over the Bucs the upset of the week? It sounds more like the lock of the week...

packers over skins - dammit mark.

ravens over rams - gus frerotte? lolzarz

vikings over bears - upset? sure, the vi-queens actually impressed me more than the bears after playing them both (minus peanut)

titans over bucs - i gotta side w/ bro-ham above, not much of an upset, homie

patriots over cowgirls - shouldnt this be your upset, ya crazy bastard?

jaguars over texans - maaaybe w/ andre johnson, but not w/out

chargers over raiders - could be interesting, though

browns over dolphins - now that people are pleasantly surprised w/ anderson, he's gonna get hurt and brady quinn will debut against the team that shouldve drafted him. he will then proceed to carve them up, serving cam-cam right

chiefs over bengals - upset #2? sure. LJ gets back on track and the chiefs win what will either be a really, really exciting game, or a really, really boring one

eagles over jets - death by westbrook

cardinals over panthers - on the fence about this one. again, i LOATHE david carr and his hair

seahawks over saints - i'm pullin for the saints, big time - brees is KILLIN me in fantasy football - but alas, i dont see them getting right, yet

giants over falcons - i have nothing interesting or otherwise to say about this game. bleh.

Hm, there's some NFC East bias here, no? I could see how all four teams could win their games, but three of those games are on the road. Other then the Skins, none of these teams are balanced. Patriots are a machine that cannot be stopped right now and the Cowboys D let Eli scored 30 something on them five weeks ago. Giants might be on a roll however they are not that great away from New York (not counting the Skins meltdown). Also, the Packers are for real and they will be pumped for this game. I like the Skins as much as the next Washingtonian, but I am not sure they're that good, yet. Finally, the Eagles, well, this is a complete toss up. Who knows what they'll have on game day...? If you're picking the Cowboys at home against a better team on paper, then you should give the benefit of a doubt to the home teams that other NFC East teams are playing against - Packers, in particular...

Mark,

As a loyal Washington Post subscriber AND a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, I humbly request that you please keep picking against the Bucs week after week. Anything to help my team!
