Chiefs Say L. Johnson's Foot is Improving But Again Fail to Provide Specifics
The playing status beyond this week of Kansas City Chiefs tailback Larry Johnson remains shrouded in mystery.
The Chiefs issued a written statement Thursday saying that Johnson has made "significant improvement" and will be re-evaluated next week. He injured his right foot last weekend and Coach Herman Edwards said this week that Johnson won't play Sunday.
"Larry has made significant improvement with less swelling and pain in his injured right foot," the Chiefs said in the statement. "His status will be re-evaluated again early next week with further exams and tests."
But the Chiefs have not specifically denied a report by a Denver television station that Johnson will miss the rest of the season because of a broken bone in the foot.
