Leftwich to Reclaim Falcons' Starting Job When Healthy

Byron Leftwich remains the No. 1 quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons when healthy, Coach Bobby Petrino announced Wednesday.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that Leftwich, who's coming off ankle surgery, will be ready to play this weekend. That remains to be determined.

Joey Harrington began the season as the starter before being benched in favor of Leftwich, and Harrington has led the Falcons to two straight wins as a fill-in starter since Leftwich got hurt. Harrington told reporters he hadn't been informed by the coaches that Leftwich would reclaim the starting job when recovered.
