Vikings Add Detmer

The Minnesota Vikings signed quarterback Koy Detmer.

Detmer formerly played for the Philadelphia Eagles when Vikings Coach Brad Childress was an Eagles assistant.

Detmer gives Childress another option as the Vikings deal with a series of quarterback injuries. Would-be starter Tarvaris Jackson suffered a concussion last weekend and has missed games this season because of a strained groin muscle and a broken finger. Top backup Kelly Holcomb is sidelined by a neck injury. The Vikings also have Brooks Bollinger on the roster.
