Banner Says He Expects Reid, McNabb Back With Eagles Next Season
There has been plenty of speculation that Coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb could leave the Philadelphia Eagles after this season.
Reid has had to coach this season while dealing with the legal troubles of his two adult sons. He took a leave of absence from the team last offseason and has been asked repeatedly if he plans to quit coaching. McNabb has had another injury-filled season, producing conjecture that he perhaps could be traded in the offseason.
But Joe Banner, the team's president, told a Philadelphia radio station this week that he expects both back next season.
"He will be the coach next year," Banner said of Reid on WIP radio. "From our perspective and everything he said to us, he will be the coach next year."
Of McNabb, Banner said: "My expectations, and I can't really even picture a different scenario, is that he'll be the quarterback."

Yeah, instead tell us a story about Redskins greatness! How many top draft picks do they have this year? What big free agents will they sign? Give us the usual song and dance, and with enthusiasm!

As long as Philadelphia has someone to hand off and pass to Brian Westbrook --- argueably the league's most versatile and valuable player --- as well as a several John Runyons to pancake opposing players, I don't think it matters whether they have Donavan McNabb or, for that matter, Andy Reid.
