Last Union Appeal on Jones's Suspension Is Mere Formality

The NFL Players Association's latest appeal of the season-long suspension of Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones is scheduled to be heard Friday.

The hearing is to take place by telephone and apparently has virtually no chance of success.

Jones was suspended for the entire season by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Goodell originally made Jones's suspension reviewable after 10 games but declined to shorten it. The union is appealing that decision.
