No Pro Bowl Nod for F. Taylor
The Pro Bowl rosters are out, and perhaps the most surprising exclusion is Jacksonville Jaguars tailback Fred Taylor.
Taylor has run for 1,091 yards this season but remained without a Pro Bowl selection in his career. The tailbacks chosen for the AFC team were the San Diego Chargers' LaDainian Tomlinson, the Pittsburgh Steelers' Willie Parker and the Indianapolis Colts' Joseph Addai.
The Jaguars have a record of 10-4 but didn't have any players chosen. The Dallas Cowboys had 11 players chosen, including quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Terrell Owens. Quarterback Tom Brady and wideout Randy Moss were among the eight players selected from the unbeaten New England Patriots. The Chargers also had eight players picked.
The Green Bay Packers' Brett Favre is to start at quarterback for the NFC, with Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck and Romo also on the roster. Minnesota Vikings rookie Adrian Peterson was selected as the NFC starter at tailback.
Brady is to start for the AFC at quarterback, ahead of the Colts' Peyton Manning and the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger.

Pity the poor Oakland Raiders. Fred's going for 250 yards again Sunday.

I disagree, tigerjag -- I think Fred will be going for the record -- 300 yards. And against a porous Raider Defense (Kolby Smith of KC going for 150 yds.; Ryan Grant 156 yds.; Chester Taylor 154 yds.; Ron Dayne 122 yds; LenDale White 133 yds; Tomlinson 198; Travis Henry 128) He may get it. It's like all the conditions lining up for a Perfect Storm.
In fairness to the Raiders, however, they did hold Pro Bowl running back Jos. Addai to 44 yds on 15 carries.

Fred Taylor's stats when going head to head against the three AFC Pro Bowl Running Backs this year: Taylor- 70 rushes, 391 yards, 5.9 yards per carry.
Tomlinson, Addai & Parker: 67 rushes, 314 yards. 4.7 yards per carry.
FYI
