S. Hill's Ailing Back Could Force Niners to Go to Weinke as Starter

The San Francisco 49ers have been winning lately with former University of Maryland quarterback Shaun Hill as their starter.

But Hill has been suffering from back spasms this week and the 49ers might have to turn to Chris Weinke in their season finale.

Weinke, a former starter in Carolina, was signed by the 49ers earlier this month. The only other quarterback available, with Alex Smith out following season-ending shoulder surgery and Trent Dilfer sidelined by a concussion, is practice squad member Drew Olson.

The 49ers have won their last two games with Hill as their starter.
