Dolphins Coaching Candidate Drops Out

Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley withdrew from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy.

The Dolphins requested and received permission from the Cardinals to interview Haley. But they also moved to keep Haley by negotiating a new three-year contract with him, and Haley declined to interview with the Dolphins.

Haley had been regarded as a contender for the job in Miami because he'd worked with new Dolphins front office czar Bill Parcells in Dallas. Haley had been the Cowboys' passing game coordinator when Parcells was the Cowboys' head coach. His withdrawal cements the notion around the league that the job likely will go to Cowboys offensive line coach Tony Sparano.
