D. Carr, K. Holcomb, T. Law Among Those Released Today

Catching up on today's comings and goings:

The players released included Carolina Panthers quarterback David Carr, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kelly Holcomb, Baltimore Ravens tailback Mike Anderson, Buffalo Bills running back Anthony Thomas, defensive ends Kevin Carter and Greg Spires of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Ty Law.

The Panthers agreed to a contract with wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad, who was just released by the Chicago Bears. Safety Dwight Smith, cut by the Vikings, agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with the Detroit Lions. The New Orleans Saints re-signed guard Jamar Nesbit and the Tennessee Titans re-signed wide receiver Justin Gage.
