Dolphins Releasing Z. Thomas

The Miami Dolphins informed seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas that he's being released, an NFL source said.

Thomas, 34, has spent 12 seasons with the Dolphins.

But the franchise's new decision-making team of front office chief Bill Parcells, General Manager Jeff Ireland and Coach Tony Sparano is remaking the roster, and Thomas was to have a salary of more than $5.6 million next season. The Dolphins released nine players earlier this week, including quarterback Trent Green.
