K. Orton Gets One-Year Extension From Bears

The Chicago Bears agreed to a one-year contract extension with quarterback Kyle Orton, whose deal now runs through the 2009 season.

The extension seems to be an indication that the Bears plan to retain Orton to go with Rex Grossman, who just was re-signed to a one-year deal. It remains to be seen if the Bears also will keep Brian Griese.
