Patriots Reportedly Releasing R. Colvin

The New England Patriots will have to remake their linebacking corps.

The Boston Globe is reporting on its Web site that the team is expected to release linebacker Rosevelt Colvin today. The move will save the Patriots $5.5 million in salary cap room, the Globe reports.

With Tedy Bruschi and Junior Seau eligible for free agency Friday and possibly headed into retirement, the Patriots will have to build around holdover linebackers Mike Vrabel and Adalius Thomas.
