Vikings Land M. Williams, Plus Other Developments

Safety Madieu Williams, an unrestricted free agent, agreed to a six-year, $34 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings. He leaves the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Vikings also signed running back Thomas Tapeh, formerly of Philadelphia.

In other deals:

The Denver Broncos re-signed reserve tight end Nate Jackson.

Linebacker Kawika Mitchell left the Super Bowl champion New York Giants to sign with the Buffalo Bills.

Another former Giants linebacker, Reggie Torbor, signed with the Miami Dolphins.

The Dallas Cowboys traded defensive tackle Jason Ferguson to the Dolphins. The teams will exchange sixth-round selections in this year's draft and the Cowboys will receive the Dolphins' sixth-rounder next year. Ferguson is reunited with Dolphins front office chief Bill Parcells, his former coach with the New York Jets and Cowboys.

Kicker Jeff Wilkins retired after 11 seasons with the St. Louis Rams and 14 seasons in the NFL.
