Vilma Headed to Saints
The New York Jets have an agreement to trade linebacker Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints for a conditional draft pick in 2009.
Vilma is a former first-round choice who fell into disfavor with the Jets. The Detroit Lions also were among the bidders for him.
The Saints add Vilma after trying but failing to sign free agent linebacker Zach Thomas.
