Bears-Colts Is Opening Sunday Night Game

PALM BEACH, Fla.--The NFL announced its slate of featured games on the opening weekend of next season.

The Chicago Bears will play at Indianapolis on Sept. 7 at 8:15 p.m. on NBC in the first Sunday night game of the season. It will be the first regular season game in the Colts' new facility, Lucas Oil Stadium.

There will be a Monday night doubleheader on ESPN on Sept. 8, with Minnesota at Green Bay at 7 p.m. and Denver at Oakland at 10:15.

As previously reported, the Washington Redskins will play the New York Giants, the defending Super Bowl champions, at Giants Stadium at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4, a Thursday night, in the opening game of the season on NBC. The opening kickoff is an hour and a half earlier than usual for the season-opening game to avoid a conflict with the Republican convention.
