Huizenga Will Make Call About When Ross Takes Over as Dolphins' Controlling Owner
PALM BEACH, Fla.--New York real estate developer Stephen Ross became the half-owner of the Miami Dolphins today. The sale of 50 percent of the franchise from Wayne Huizenga to Ross was approved unanimously by the owners.
Huizenga remains the Dolphins' controlling owner for now but Ross is to take over at some point. Ross said the determination about when will be made by Huizenga.
"This is Wayne's call," Ross said. "When Wayne decides to hand it over, I'll be prepared. It's on his time frame."
