Assessing the Major Trade Possibilities

Jared Allen and Adam (Pacman) Jones have been traded in recent days. Other significant deals could be in the works. Here's one assessment of the biggest potential (or rumored) draft-weekend trades, by player...

Lito Sheppard... The Eagles perhaps have to take what they can get for the cornerback after signing Asante Samuel in free agency to a far richer contract.
Chances of a deal: 60 percent

Jeremy Shockey... The Giants won the Super Bowl without him. Kevin Boss is a capable replacement and you can't completely dismiss the possibility that maybe, just maybe Eli Manning suddenly became a championship-caliber quarterback in part because he didn't have to worry about how many passes he was throwing in the tight end's direction. The Seahawks reportedly have joined the Saints in pursuit.
Chances of a deal: 50 percent

Jason Taylor... He doesn't seem to fit into a total rebuilding project. It probably would benefit both him and the Dolphins for him to be traded, and a pass rusher like him (not to mention a former NFL defensive player of the year) certainly has value. But if the Dolphins are going to hold out for a first-round draft pick in return, they might have trouble making it happen.
Chances of a deal: 40 percent

Chad Johnson... The Bengals seem adamant that they aren't going to give in and grant him his wish to be dealt.
Chances of a deal: 30 percent

Anquan Boldin... It's not like the Cardinals have a surplus of outstanding players.
Chances of a deal: 20 percent

Roy Williams... See directly above and insert Lions for Cardinals.
Chances of a deal: 20 percent

Who are possible suitors for Lito Shephard? Would the Eagles trade him to the Redskins and would there be interest from the Skins?

If the Redskins were creative, they'd find a 3rd party to trade for Shephard and then get him from them -- they Eagles are unlikely to trade a good quarterback to a division rival. But the Skins should wait until his value goes down, which always seems to happen.

The Redskins should consider drafting the "Burger King" character in the BK commercials. He might be the running back they're looking for.

Jason Taylor would be a good fit for the Skins.
