Big Trades Lacking, At Least So Far

Another surprising development Saturday was the lack of trades of players already in the league.

Cornerback Lito Sheppard is still in Philadelphia.

Defensive end Jason Taylor is still in Miami.

Tight end Jeremy Shockey is still with the New York Giants.

Wide receivers Chad Johnson of Cincinnati, Roy Williams of Detroit and Anquan Boldin of Arizona didn't budge.

The odds of one of those players being traded today seem diminished. After all, teams no longer have this weekend's first- and second-round picks to swap.

But don't completely rule out some activity on the trade front. Remember, it was on the second day of the draft last year that wide receiver Randy Moss was sent from the Oakland Raiders to the New England Patriots.
