Broncos Reportedly Considering Vanderjagt

Kicker Mike Vanderjagt was scheduled to work out for the Denver Broncos today.

The Broncos are looking for a replacement for Jason Elam, who left for Atlanta via free agency.

Vanderjagt is the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history but was out of the league this past season. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys late in the 2006 season. His controversial but mostly successful career with the Indianapolis Colts ended with a miss on a would-be tying field goal at the end of a playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at the conclusion of the 2005 season.

The Denver Post reported that the Broncos would audition Vanderjagt and punter Mitch Berger today.
