Crowd Likes Gholston Pick

NEW YORK--The Jets just took Vernon Gholston, the Ohio State defensive end, sixth.

That pick got big cheers from the Jets fans in the crowd.

Not only do they get one of the draft's best pass rushers, but they keep Gholston away from the Patriots on the seventh pick.

Not too many surprises in the top five.

The Rams went for Chris Long second and the Falcons took Matt Ryan third. They won't have to go into next season with Joey Harrington and Chris Redman as their main options at quarterback.

The Raiders got Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden fourth, leaving LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey for the Chiefs fifth. The only mild surprise, to me, was the Rams going with Chris Long over Dorsey.
