Since you do not have the Skins going for a big WR, do you think they will be able to pry CJ away from the Bengals. Or any other big WR away through a trade?

i'd guess that as the WRs continue to slip as a whole, the Skins will think they can just as adequately address that situation in the second round (Jordy Nelson, Mario Manningham, etc.), whereas for DE, it's pretty much a freefall after Merling, talent-wise.

If Baby Howie is available, the Raiders are taking him. There's no way they will let him go to the Chiefs.

That said, I think the Rams and Falcons will take Long and Dorsey and the Raiders will take Run DMC.

I'm actually looking forward to the point in the show where the Comish utters the words, "And with the sixth pick of the draft, the New York Jets pick tight end..."

NOOOOOOO!

I just tinkered a bit with the version I sent in for tomorrow's paper. I gave Derrick Harvey to the Saints at 10, and dropped Keith Rivers to the Panthers at 13. I moved a fifth cornerback into the first round by giving Brandon Flowers of Virginia Tech to the 49ers at 29, which would drop Malcolm Kelly to the second round. I'm tempted to give Arkansas State safety Tyrell Johnson to the Giants at 31, but I left Connor there. I'm also tempted to give Branden Albert instead of Ryan Clady to the Ravens eighth, but I didn't. The Matt Ryan thing obviously could go either way. If the Falcons don't take him third, I think he ends up with the Ravens.

Nice take, RaiderFan (being one myself), but I think the Silver and Black will take McFadden even if Chris Long is on the board.

Al Davis and Howie Long aren't exactly the closest of friends. Number 75 has been very candid publicly about how poorly the Raider organization has been run.

If the Pats don't trade down, it's not the CB. It's Albert or Ellis, based on you having the 1st 6 right. Value / risk.

"How can they possibly go into next season with Chris Redman and Joey Harrington as their main options at quarterback?" Easy answer: They are rebuilding for the future not next year. What good does drafting a quarterback that is going to take 3-4 years to develop with a number 3 pick when the offensive line can't block anybody, the defensive line can't stop the run and the secondary can't cover anybody. The Falcons have 3 second round picks. I'm sure they can find a quarterback that can sit the bench as well as Ryan can with one of those picks. You NEVER draft a quarterback with a top 5 pick unless he is the next John Elway or Peyton Manning. I'm absolutely baffled that ANYONE thinks Matt Ryan can start anywhere in the NFL right away. Did anyone not see the Maryland/BC game last year? Let the Ravens have him.

P.S. Arthur Blank should fire Thomas Dimitroff on the spot if he drafts Ryan with the third pick.

Matt Ryan is going to freefall. Why would Atlanta go....cause there isn't much better and you can't waste that pick. they can offer 2,2s and get Ryan later at 21. Ozzie is too smart and Jets are paranoid looking over their shoulder. Ryan's passes stay up forever, recievers wait, balls that got there at BC come back with a diff jersey in the pros(19 picks), so the big question is, can he tackle? this is a trade down year

I agree with Jon here, the Pats don't guarantee 18 million to a rookie cornerback when they could have kept Asante Samuel (a fourth rounder) for a little more than that guaranteed. I see them piecing together a secondary with low priced veterans like Jason Webster and Fernando Bryant and some rookies taken in later rounds. I think this is part of the reason they signed Dom Capers to coach the secondary this season. I think they trade down if they can ( I don't think they can) and they pick up a linebacker, defensive or offensive lineman.

I think Ryan goes in the top 8. While I don't think he'll be a pro bowler he wins games. He rinds me of a more polished version of Chad Pennington when he came out.
