Several Players in Union Leadership Express Support for Upshaw
Tennessee Titans center Kevin Mawae, the newly elected president of the union, has issued a written statement saying that Matt Stover's effort to remove Gene Upshaw as executive director of the NFL Players Association is not a widespread movement.
"Matt Stover's letter does not reflect the view of the entire executive committee or the board of player representatives," Mawae said. "The board is in the process of preparing for the possibility of a work stoppage and understands the importance of having Gene, with his experience and history, lead the direction of the NFLPA."
Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins, a member of the union's executive committee, said in a telephone interview today that he doesn't know how much support any movement among the players to remove Upshaw might have.
Dawkins said he does not support forcing out Upshaw, but does support any effort to identify Upshaw's eventual successor sooner rather than later.

Here is the problem we have with Upshaw nobody is supporting matt Stover because of the fact that they are being blinded with money and they are not realizing what is happening to their sport and what is happening is that Upshaw not only poisening the game he's too chummy with the owners the more cap you have the more money the players and owners make the bottom line is this there is only one way to hurt rich people and that is unless the ouster of Upshaw comes from the fans from the entire large football markets with the threats of cancelling all season tickets including luxury boxes nothing's changing it's that simple.

The title of your post is "Several Players in Union Leadership Express Support for Upshaw", however, in your writing you write of one player supporting Upshaw, Kevin Mawae. Where are the "several" players?
Three blog posts supporting Upshaw in a 24 hour period? Some very insightful reporting.
