Culpepper, Leftwich Among Those Still Unsigned

The draft has come and gone, and the quarterback shuffle around the league is just about done. And still, Daunte Culpepper and Byron Leftwich remain out of work.

Culpepper had a visit with the Green Bay Packers just before the draft. But the Packers' decision to take Brian Brohm in the second round Saturday might mean they won't sign Culpepper. Remember when Randy Moss was a free agent early in the offseason and spoke to Culpepper, his one-time teammate in Minnesota, about the possibility of signing somewhere together? So much for that.

It's possible that Culpepper and Leftwich now could wait until training camp to see if a team has someone get hurt and has a pressing need at quarterback, and sign somewhere then. But that approach would deprive them of an entire offseason's worth of practice-field work, and make things that much tougher to earn playing time next season.

I think Culpepper had his two good years while at MN. Since, not much. So much talent yet he couldn't put it together.

I did forget to add that Culpepper had a guy by the name of Randy Moss to throw to.

Culpepper was never that good when he was in Minnesota, despite the numbers he put up. Randy Moss made him look a lot better than he actually was. He's a terrible executor of strategy, a lousy clock manager, and tends to fumble/throw interceptions at the worst times. You'll notice he hasn't done anything since he hasn't had Moss. Culpepper is a never-was.
